IP-Cam Single Version - Installation

IP-Cams Single Version is a native component for Joomla!. ALL Joomla versions 1.5 - 2.5 - 3.x  are supported. The component must be installed with the original installation function of Joomla! in the backend.

The component creates classic component files and folders and also copies the main component public file (ipcamview.php) plus two font files (Abduction.ttf e tahoma.ttf) in the site root (ex.: www.mysite.com/ipcamview.php).

Note: from version 1.1.0 for Joomla! 2.5, characters files are copied in the "fonts" subfolder under the component path.

Main file is the file that will be called by internal or external links to take the IPcam snapshot as you can see here.

During installation, if the site root is not writable or if for any reason these files cannot be copied, the component will be however installed but it will show an error with which Joomla! administrator will know which files must be copied manually in the site root.

Is there a way to bypass the "last image corrupted" screen and display the image anyways? There is low reception in the area that I use the camera. Often the images may be slightly distorted, but they are still vissible but not viewable due to the "corrupt" screeen.

Hello Otis. At the moment, it is not possible. However, sometimes should be possible to avoid the problem increasing the image upload time of your ipcam or if you are using a js reload script, increasing the image reload time.
If so it works, depends on the type of corruption detected.
In any case, I will add a new setting to make "image corrupted" function on or off.
Thanks for your comment.
Best regards

Hello.
Although you can embed ipcam snapshot images on different sites simply using the "src" attribute of an image tag, with this component, in the joomla backend, you can manage (as its name says) only one ipcam. Essentially, ipcam images have to be uploaded on the same site where the component is installed. Although future component versions may manage more ipcams, this first release was created for "webcam owners" and was not intended for use as a "directory" of webcams.
Best regards.

Hello.
I'm sorry but at the moment the component can manage only one camera for joomla installation.
Now, the only solution is to manage two or more cameras installing the component on two or more joomla sites, then using links from each site.
Best regards
